So I failed miserably last week. I should have known when I started off day 2 on day 1 and missed day 3 and had to do it on day 4, etc. It was a rough week for scheduling. When you make a mistake like this in fitness, it is all to easy to look at your failure and give up. You can project this failure onto your future plans and decide it will never work. However, it is also deceptively easy to not let it affect you at all. A lot of people take the former route because it frees up their time and means they don't have to work anymore. I used to do that, but I don't anymore. What does last week mean to me? Well, I think of it this way. I only got 3 workouts in. Most people get zero. I got three. I ate healthy all week. I lost 2 pounds. I'm starting again today. How upset do you think I am? Not at all. I weighed myself this morning, took my requisite Day1 photos again, and did my Chest and Back workout. It was tough getting back into it, especially the pull-ups, but I set a goal number for each exercise and hit it, taking mid-set rests if I needed to. After my workout, I went to the pool.
It was a good day, even though I was on-call.
